The following tutorial provides you a complete info about how to create a new PST file in Microsoft Outlook 2007 & 2010 and how to move old PST file data in new created PST file.

You will create a new Outlook PST file by just following the given below steps:

Steps for Outlook 2007:

Step 1: Click on File button and select "New" option from the drop down list. After that select "Outlook Data File"option.

Step2: Here a window pop-up with two options likes:

  • Office Outlook Personal Folders File(.pst)
  • Outlook 97-2002 Personal Folders File (.pst)

You will select one of these options as per your requirement.

Step3: "Write a name of PST file" and after that click on "OK".

Step4: After clicking on "OK" button a window popup at your screen, here you will change the name of PST file and set the password for PST File. After that click on "Ok" button to continue process.

Step 5: After clicking on "OK" you will see PST file in Folder pane of MS Outlook.

Now select the items which you want to move in new Outlook PST file by just using a simple drag and drop process and move all Old PST data in new created PST file.

Steps for Outlook 2010:

Step1: Open MS Outlook and click on new items

Step2: Now a drop down window open at your screen selects more items from it then Outlook data file.

Step3: Select the location to save new created PST file and give the suitable name. After that click on save as type option to select PST file format.

  • Outlook Data File (Unicode PST)
  • Outlook 97-2002 Data File (ANSI PST)

Select one of the options as per your requirement. After that if you want to add a password on this PST file for security purpose select "add optional password" option.

Step 4: Click on "Ok" button and view a newly created PST file on your Outlook folder pane.

Move old PST data to new PST file with the help of few easy steps:

Step1: Select the data which you want to move in new PST File.

Step2: After that Right click on all and select the Move option in the drop down list.

Step3: Now select the location where you want to move old data.

Step4: After that Click on OK and your data move at new location.
