How to Split Large PST Files with Split Software ?

Steps to Split Large PST Files

» Open SysTools Split PST. Go to Start menu » Programs » SysTools Split PST » SysTools Split PST. Software will display the following screen:

 

» Click on Browse button to select MS Outlook PST file as shown here:

» After clicking Browse button software displays following screen:

» Select the file and click on open button, then software displays following screen:

» In PST Information box, software extracts all its information such as PST Name, PST Type, PST Size & no. of PST Folders present inside the selected PST file. Now click on Next button and software will display following screen:

» Now you have to choose Split Options to Split large PST file into small pst files. SysTools provide three options Split by Size, Split by Folder & Split Selected Folders to split selected PST file.

• Split by Size: This option lets you to split according to a File size of the selected PST file. Suppose you have PST file of 10 MB file size and entered 5 in the "Enter the Size" field, then software will split the 10 MB PST file in 2 small PST files having size of 5 MB.
• Split by Folders: This option lets you to split selected PST file according number of folders. Suppose you have 2 folders having 10 MB file size each and you entered 5 in the "Enter the Size" field, then software will split the PST file in 4 small PST files having file size of 5MB.
• Split Selected Folders: This option lets you to split only selected folders. Suppose you selected Inbox and Outbox folder, then software will split and create 2 small PST files i.e. one for "Inbox" folder and another one for "Outbox folder.

» Select the appropriate option and then click on Split PST button to split the selected PST file. After this software will display screen as shown below

» Now choose the location where you want to save the splitted PST file from the following box:

» Now SysTools will start splitting and creating New PST files in selected saving location showing on screen progress details as shown below:

» After completing the Split PST process to split large PST files in to small PST files, SysTools allows user to compare new splitted PST file with the Original PST files. To compare original and New PST files, click on Compare PST button as shown in the following screen:

» Then software will display a "Compare Split Preview" box showing PST before Split in the left pane and PST after Split in the right pane as shown below:
